Artistic swimming, formerly known as synchronised swimming has been an Olympic sport since 1984. Ever since, men have been banned from competition. In 2015, male artistic swimmer were for the first time in history allowed to participate at the official World and European Championships in a mixed event called mixed duet.

However, men are still banned from the Olympic Games in artistic swimming.

MEN IN SYNC is an upcoming short documentary that has been in the works since autumn 2019. The film explores the gender inequality and misrepresentation that male artistic swimmers are facing in the Olympics. The film includes intimate interviews with Spanish mixed duet Pau Ribes & Emma Garcia, and legendary American male artistic swimmer Bill May.

The crew consists of 12 young filmmakers who are passionate about getting this story out to the world, and hopefully we'll see you on the big screen very soon.
