Op donderdag 6 februari aanstaande zou de Jamaicaanse reggaelegende Bob Marley 75 jaar zijn geworden. Marley was in de jaren zeventig verantwoordelijk voor de verspreiding van reggae en spreekt nog steeds tot de verbeelding van miljoenen muziekliefhebbers wereldwijd. Stichting Caribbean Creativity organiseert daarom in februari, in samenwerking met Melkweg en meer dan tien andere filmtheaters, een eerbetoon aan de ‘King of Reggae’ met een Marley75 Film Festival in Amsterdam en enkele andere steden, inclusief premières, klassiekers en feestjes.

On Thursday, February 6, Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley would have turned 75. Marley was responsible for the spread of global reggae in the 1970s and still appeals to the imagination of millions of music lovers all over the world. That's why the Caribbean Creativity Foundation, in collaboration with Melkweg Amsterdam and more than ten other film theaters, is organizing a tribute to the 'King of Reggae' with a full-blown Marley75 Film Festival in Amsterdam and some other cities, including premieres, classics and parties.
