회사에서는 바다 속 세계와 육지 세계를 연결해 주고, 바다 안에 살고 있던 주민들을 자신의 세계를 투어 해주는 가이드로 고용한다.
주인공은 마법 성냥 광고를 보고 제품을 구입하여 지워지지 않는 상처가 떠오를 때마다 바다 속으로 뛰어들어간다.
바다에 살고 있는 가이드는 각 편마다 주인공의 이야기를 들으며 어떻게 자신의 기억을 다뤄야 하는지 얘기해준다.

The main character decides to purchase the magic matches after seeing an advertisement.
