LEAKS was developed during an artist residency at SenseLab at Concordia University in the summer of 2018 and was shown as research at the MFA Gallery. The premiere took place in December 2018 at the Kunsthalle Zurich in collaboration with the dramaturg and choreographer Juan Felipe Amaya González.
The concept of leakage as the origin of the piece was present through the various meanings it conveys, both as a physical and biological phenomenon and as a metaphorical disclosure of information. It is an image of a random flow of fluids, the crossing of boundaries, barriers and membranes, and a natural pressure regulation in containers that makes their cracks visible. Moreover, the disclosure or revelation of privileged knowledge is an empowering instrument of breach of trust that disrupts the flow of information and rethinks the infrastructures and engines of public discourse and politics.
