José Gonzalez is one of the eldest living person of El Calvario shantytown on south-eastern Caracas. He has dedicated his life to sculpture, painting and graven. His parents where among the first families to settle in El Calvario.
This short film was filmed and edited in the same day as part of a project called "Calvario puertas abiertas" (Calvario doors open), which is a full day of activities in the comunity open to everyone, with the objective of presenting history and costumes of El Calvario to the people. At the end of the day, a open-door cinema projection was made at night time where we projected for the people of El Calvario this and other short films about other characteristic people of their community.
