Galway Moves is a new choreographic dance project with Galway 2020, Dansnest and Galway Dance Project. The project was due to be delivered in May 2020, but due to Covid, the production has been reimagined in a digital format. We have been working with film and video artist Laura Sheeran, our partners Dansnest and our talented dance artists, Genevieve Ryan, Kristyn Fontanella, Patricia Glynn, Marta Almedia, Mia Bradley Evans and Sammie Hermans to produce 6 short dance films.
These films have been the ultimate introduction to a new way of working. The online meetings between creators involved sharing their lives during Covid-19 in lockdown, across borders. It’s a reflection of a time when you are more than ever confronted with yourself. We are seeing new rituals in the search for balance and creativity.
