Cinema Detroit and Detroit Narrative Agency (DNA) present Ethics & Aesthetics as an intentional space for Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities to view media projects and films relevant to them and to reflect on their form and content.
The theme for this program, Footnotes on the Black Experience, shows organized resistance, uprisings, intimate reflections, and slow-motion meditations, these films breathe life into multidimensional Black experiences in America/Turtle Island. The films included were:

• Witness by Marie Alarcon
• All Skinfolk Ain’t Kinfolk by Angela Tucker (@tuckergurl)
This video is documentation of the post screening conversation between the filmmakers listed above, moderated by DNA Co-Director Cornetta Lane-Smith.
These films were preceded by select videos from DNA’s Radical Remedies: Collective Healing and Power Through Story. They included:

All films and conversations were closed captioned and included ASL interpretation, with support from DNA technical production apprentice Raven Martin, editor Nadeem Persico-Shammas, and production house Mainstream Media in Chicago.
