My name is Sierra, and I wanted to take the time to center the experiences of women of color through speaking with a friend of mine, ms. Marziah Malek, who shares such a differing cultural background than myself. We journey through her learned perspective through baring vulnerability as she speaks on lived experiences with Colorism and skin bleaching and the way in which it works to aid white supremacy but most importantly look at how she’s worked to dismantle these ideals in her own journey and those who cross she’s crossed paths with.
