FECUND SOIL was filmed in a natural reserve next to one of the biggest chemical clusters in the world in the harbor of Antwerp. The fictive story unfolds in this surreal setting, alternating between an animistic dream and a post- humanistic atmosphere. The narrative plays with the historical shift of natural rubber trade to the contemporary synthetic rubber production. A fiction of an ancient ball game, where the industry slowly appears as one of its biggest players.
