A few years ago, after playing with a speaker, water in a plastic container and some food colouring to observe the waves created by different sound frequencies, I left the container somewhere on a shelf and forgot about it. A few weeks later I found it while tidying up in my room. All of the water had evaporated, and I was quick to notice that the colour and the patterns created by the evaporating water, were changing depending on if it was lit from the top, or from beneath. It instantly inspired me to scratch out an image in it, and observe how it changes depending on the lighting. I have now recreated that effect, documenting it in a short movie accompanied by my music.
