A Human’s experience with technology and the psychological impact smart technology has on them.

Synopsis
Often when using an electronic device for an extensive period, all the performed activities can merge into one event. It may have been an eventful day, but it doesn’t feel that way, when everything occurs in a singular location and position. It feels very uneventful.
I employed rhythmic cutting and shot repetition to illustrate the meld of online based tasks.

Deep Dive explores many ideas and feelings personal to my experiences in the digital realm.

Much of the activities that I partake in, on my laptop, are depicted including listing to music, web searching, online conversing, and world viewing.

Some sequences may be excessive and linger on too long, and this was intention in depiction the addictive nature of smart technology.

As the film, builds towards an aural and visual bombardment overload, it represents the overwhelm that can cause incomprehensibility.

The short film’s dominant school scheme is blue and green. Blue was used to express the cold, almost numb feeling that I can often feel while engaged on devices. Green evokes sickness and contamination, suggesting the potential hazards of the digital world.

The concluding shot of the film emphasizes the long-lasting impact that device usage can have on the brain. How when going to sleep not long after electronic consumption, the memories prevail.

All fears and problems displayed leave a strong desire of clarity.
