This seven-minute short film explores the splendor that is Carlsbad Caverns. The journey begins at the Whites City Cavern Inn and proceeds to the park entrance. Then, it's through the mountains and onto the visitor's center. There is a brief walk to the cavern entrance followed by a one-hour descent to the bottom. The next part of the adventure is a 1.3 mile loop. The presentation ends with some footage of Sitting Bull Falls, which is about 42 miles from Whites City.

Tech: Shooting caverns is always challenging because of dark conditions and poor lighting. Formations are lit with bright, harsh lights. There is bounce light from reflections off rocks and then hard drop-offs in visibility. I augmented the existing lighting with a cooler, helmet-mounted flood as a fill light. This was far from perfect, but at least portable.

The entire film was shot (entirely handheld) with an iPhone 12 Pro Max and Go Pro 10, along with some drone footage. The drone was challenging because of a bird that took a pretty intense interest in my drone :)
