When asked to make a film with a theme of “bright”, I had several ideas but wanted to choose one that was personal and that I could produce to a good standard during the holidays when I didn’t have access to my actor friends. I decided to use my family, as I was with them, and started to film scenes with different members showing how something brightened their day. This included my Grandpa who has dementia - I found that the things and people that brightened his day meant the most to me and felt they were more impactful and emotional. This led me to make a film on what brightens my Grandpa’s often dark days.
