Remake of some advertising clip by stabilizing all seperate scenes. This duo version shows the result.

Filming with a simple smartphone can give nice results, but only when the images are stabilized. This is a nice example.

You can recreate any video like this, with simple software tools. It took me just 2 hours to create, using KdenLive (to cut and rebuild all 33 scenes) and my own stabilizer application, which is just a GUI of the following (linux) commands :

analyse original video : create .trf file
$ ./ffmpeg -hide_banner -i org.webm -vf vidstabdetect -f null -

create stable version
$ ./ffmpeg -hide_banner -i org.webm -vf vidstabtransform,unsharp=5:5:0.8:3:3:0.4 stable.webm

put original and stable version next to eachother
$ ./ffmpeg -hide_banner -i org.webm -vf "[in] pad=2*iw:ih [left]; movie=stable.webm [right]; [left][right] overlay=main_w/2:0 [out]" out_both.mkv

You should have a ffmpeg binairy (program) on your computer which has the vid.stab filter "compiled into" it .. this is not default on a common OS .. you can compile such ffmpeg yourself, but this is for "experts" .. or you can get a "static build" ffmpeg at johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/ (linux only, but this is my solution for now). The unsharp filter should be used (so i read) but my parameters are just a copy, their meaning is unclear to me yet ..

The out_both file shows the 2 videos next to eachother : it has double width and same height.

You may change this code to experiment and learn .. then find some good FFmpeg manual pages (man ffmpeg) which explain all options (parameters) .. in most cases FFmpeg does not need many parameters : many are automatically detected and set, eg. the extension of your output file (mkv, avi, mpg, mp4, flv, etc) will set the proper codec .. the audios of the 2 videos are not merged : the output audio comes from the -i input video.
