Whereas, Big River Comic Convention 2019 is the first “true” Comic Convention held in
Northeast Missouri. The comic convention extravaganza will feature the best in comic books, as
well as fantasy, science fiction, superhero television and film; and
Whereas, Superhero Day will be devoted to an exciting fun filled day of cosplay, costume
contest, vendors, renowned character design artists, screenwriters, comic book authors, and panel
discussions on design development and production of unique characters, along with special
guest; and
Whereas, Big River Comic Convention wants to help everyone in the community feel like
they are a superhero in their own right. Whether that means dressing up as your favorite hero or
donating money to worthwhile causes – everyone can find the hero within; and
Whereas, Big River Comic Convention is using the event to raise money for the Kids in
Motion/Teens in Motion program for the year 2019.
Now, therefore, I, James Hark, Mayor of the City of Hannibal, do hereby proclaim
April 13, 2019 as
SUPERHERO DAY
in the City of Hannibal, and ask that all citizens of this community take part in being a superhero.
