A VFX breakdown of our shots we produced for our team project during Year 2 at Escape Studios. (May 2021)

The brief for this module was to, as a team, produce a sequence of VFX shots by integrating new elements and assets in the live-action backplates.
As a 2D artist I was working on various different tasks throughout the project.
I roto'd the mountains, the roof of the petrol station and several poles and objects around the petrol station by using Nuke for keying and Silhouette to track and roto. Both shots required extensive cleanup and I worked on removing the existing cars, the road lines and the cart. Due to the moving camera in Shot10, the cleanup and recreation of the background was challenging and complex but a very good opportunity to learn more about 2D and 3D projection techniques.
I was also responsible for creating and integrating the set projections, such as the logos, posters and graffiti on both shots. Once the 3D assets were ready, I was assigned to the grading and compositing of the tent and fence in both shots. I was also overseeing the script for shot20, making sure the shot was ready for the final render.
