My name is Alison Bergblom Johnson. I'm a writer and teaching artist. This is an introduction into Writing Your Personal Pandemic, a class about writing right now. It's a class focused primarily on creating new material. In the video I set up a sample exercise, and explain how the class will be structured. I'll put a link up to a transcript by end of day Monday Mar 30.
This is a daily writing class that begins on Wednesday April 1st and lasts until April 30. Each week there will be a 30-minute Zoom call lab in real time. The lab is a chance to get tips on writing process, to share writing with others, and to discuss some brief model texts. Class registration will remain available after April 1.
If you're interested in signing up please visit the Facebook Group the class will be in. facebook.com/groups/writingthepersonalpandemic/
This is a paid class with a sliding scale from $10 to $150 for the month. Please use your best judgment as to where you fall on the scale. Please use the lower end of the scale if you've been impacted by COVID-19 financially. Also, a handful of scholarship slots are available. Please send me an email at alison@alisonbergblomjohnson.com if you'd like to apply for a scholarship affirming your need for a scholarship and a bit about why this class appeals. There will be a scholarship preference for people with disabilities.
