ABOUT UMBRA:

Resembling a basic maze, Umbra consists of 3 large-scale Tetris-style blocs,
through which visitors are invited to wander. Between the white semi-opaque
walls of the maze are arranged a number of lights and projectors, casting drifting
shadows all around passers-by.

If usually in a maze people are tricked by getting lost between the labyrinthine
walls, in Umbra, the artifice consists of a visual illusion between the audiences'
true silhouettes and the intermittent projection of performers’ shadows,
previously filmed and then projected onto the installation’s walls.

As visitors stroll through, they are led astray, confused by what they know to be their
own shadows (or that of others also present in the installation), and what they
gradually discover to be the movement of artists’ pre-recorded ghost performance.
