TRIAL AND by Merle | Mischke | Klee
Merle, Mischke and Klee physically experience the Trial-and-Error method. TRIAL AND consists of eight scenes of text and movement in which the performers quite literally try something out, collectively and alone. Amongst other challenges, they pick acrobatic yoga poses off their Instagram feed and attempt to re-create them. The spectator also witnesses a perfectionist, seemingly moving virtuously, yet he is never satisfied. There is the attempt to make the audience stand up as well as the reflection on care and “trying to be there for someone” in a sibling-relationship, translated in silent and vulnerable movement.
TRIAL AND is a do-it-yourself performance in which the performers handle light and sound manually on stage. In this environment notions of failure and success become visible. The act of trying is being celebrated. Merle, Mischke and Klee are millennials and look at the world and themselves somewhat naively, from the perspective of their generation. They practice an ideal society in which a safe space is created through collective support and non-judgment.

TRIAL AND is a production by Merle | Mischke | Klee, co-produced by K3 - Zentrum für Choreographie | Tanzplan Hamburg and Theaterwerkstatt Pilkentafel Flensburg. Funded by Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Bildung und Kultur Schleswig-Holstein, the city of Neumünster and I-Portunus / Creative Europe.
