Among the most memorable initiatives of the ECDay 2019 was the amateur video competition “EUROPE IS YOU”, named after the campaign’s slogan. The aim was to capture the essence of the European spirit through a short video that answered the question “Why EUROPE IS YOU?” and ‘spoke’ both to stakeholders and general public. The competition started as early as May 2019 and spanned till the end of June 2019.
The video, which has become an absolute winner at Latvia-Russia CBC Programme competition, was made by 13-year-old student from St Petersburg. The story line is dedicated to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals the citizens share across Europe, including climate action, decent work and economic growth, partnerships for the goals, and others.
