Types of students (May be art school specific)

The Well Poisoner: the student who ruins the class for most everyone, including the teacher, but who is complete unaware of having this effect. The class may be initially unaware of the damage but might notice if the Well Poisoner is in other classes or when the WP is absent.

The Brooke: the student who ruins the class for the majority of the students but not for the teacher.

(Invisible girl): (she can also be a guy, but mostly isn't) (you have already forgotten her name, her face and her work) (you do not do your best work as a teacher with this student).

The NoFuckingFun Late Add: you were able to get rid of the other losers but this one showed up at the last minute. The NFFLA missed 2-4 classes worth of class time and makes no effort to make it up and then blames you when he/she falls short.

The Jacuzzi Shitter: this terror is worse than the Well Poisoner because this student is totally self aware of how he/she is wrecking everything.

The Newly Minted Junior Party Member: the student who just discovered politics, or racism, or queer theory, and who is ready to challenge you on terminology, or motives, or anything. Sometimes this student is awesome, sometimes not. (Can be a Brooke).

The Greatest Student Ever who's work is so perfect and amazing that it makes everyone else's look like crap: This student works hard, takes criticism well, gives good feedback. You know that this student is a much better artist than you are or will ever be but you don't care. You urge this student to eat and sleep better and to try to say no before taking on more projects.

The Sam
The Sam thinks they are following the assignment but turns in something that is far far outside of the brief. You asked for a pie and you get a 2 minute hand drawn animation. The Sam may have started with the same first step but the result (however competent) could not be considered to be on point. The work isn’t lazy, this is not a con, but it’s also just not what you asked for. The Sam did not intend to make a bold choice or to be clever. The Sam also does this a bunch.
