BACKGROUND /
A leaf breaks free from the shackles of it's branch and causes all manner of mischief as it floats to the ground. Ben Wilde kickstarts a foray into the animation world with this self-initiated short.
APPROACH /
The falling leaf instigates several key sequences that are complimented with a funk based composition. The track never really gets underway due to the sudden mishaps but creates a running theme and comedic expectation that helps ground the structure of the piece. Sound design is built upon a bed of wind implemented at various perspectives. It looks to establish the open air environment and beginnings of the leaf's journey. Timing and character was key in other SFX. Chris obliged with the closing recorded dialogue.
