In April 2021, I was blessed to take part in a collaborative performance with Khyaal Vocal Ensemble at Tempo Rubato.

_S-P_I-N_E- was a two-part event - this video shares Act One.

ACT One: Featured sharing a series of poems from my book ‘imprints of witness’. Alongside, @khay created subtle sounds beneath the words. My experimental visuals were projected onto their white dresses.

ACT Two: Saw Khyaal Vocal Ensemble interpret my spinal tattoo through improvised singing and choreography that represented the dashed line through rhythm and movement. I joined Khyaal Vocal Ensemble on stage, with my exposed back to the audience, displaying the vertebral notation that they were creating from.
