An animated short film which, with the help of multiple Zoetropes, tells the tragic story of a little lamb, figured as Little Red Riding Hood.

The Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale provides the main storyline. However, in the film the plot focuses on another theme and singles out the forester as the shady main character. The roles of human and animal are also exchanged and the characters in the film are depicted as anthropomorphous animals. The big bad wolf is a human being.

The visual implementation is unusual. The story takes place in Zoetropes. This is a historical optical and primitive device that can display drawn sequences of images in motion. It’s an invention from the 19th century and a forerunner of film technology.

Little Red Riding Hood’s family consist of sheep: the mother, the child (Little Red Riding Hood), and grandpa (with sparse threads of wool hanging from his skin). The forester and his wife are dogs with a soft spot for sausages. The butcher is a man with a serious stock problem – he has run out of meat.

The protagonists live separate in five Zoetropes. The camera approaches the devices and shows the actions on the paper strip. A coherent story is created through the cinematic stringing together of the events.
