playing about with photoshop and premiere pro.
cut shapes out of card, scanned them, then created the whole scene using photoshop's animation function. after, i put the file through premiere pro to do zooms, pans, and add audio.
two things that i'm aware of are inconsistencies in resolution. i think this is down to the process of cutting out shapes and then scanning them. this meant i was often adjusting the size rather than having them all scale to each other. i've since tried out a new technique where i scan the whole piece of card, and then cut out in photoshop. the results have been a far clearer look with refined edges and resolution, if a wee bit less handmade looking.
i like this video but i'm really just playing about. any thoughts, tips, critiques are more than welcome to help me improve.
the biggest struggle i found was persevering through the tedious. i love stop motion which is why i committed to it over after effects, which feels a little bit lifeless and inaccessible to me. but that doesn't mean that sitting down for days on end tapping the same buttons on my keyboard gets any easier.
worth it to watch this video back. so i'll definitely do it again.
