Promotional Video of the indoor version of our first work, IRMÃ.

IRMÃ is the Portuguese word for sister. The work delves into the field of relationships, their impact on one’s personal life and how they teach us to both face and overcome struggle and find reconciliation. What does it take to become close to someone? And, ultimately, what does it mean? Starting from these questions and by drawing from our shared experience together in IRMÃ we considered the dynamics that occur when we build relationships and how people affect our perception of the self and the surrounding environment. At the same time, by focussing on a non romantic relationship between two women and by using a physical and athletic movement language, IRMÃ addresses the way women's bodies and emotions are displayed on stage. As female artists, we believe that is our duty to raise awareness and feed the current debate about female strength, empowerment and cooperation, as well as encouraging a shift in perspective in the way women and their emotions are represented in the art world and in society.
