Students and faculty from Brigham Young University (BYU) traveled to North Adams, MA to collaborate with students from The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) for this Hoosic River project.
In honor of the Mohicans: “People of the waters that are never still.” This cloth installation tracked the movement of the water, always in motion, as it followed the flow. The strength of the knots withstood the pull of the current, just as nature withstands and adapts to colonization. The artists installed, documented, and took the installation down in respect for the people who lived on the river before us, so as to leave no trace.
