Conceptualist Susana Weingarten creates a uniquely personal portrait of Artist as Curandera (Healer). The Work explores the Transformative power of a practice Alejandro Jodorowsky calls ‘Shamanic Psychotherapy,’ or Psychomagic. Ms.Weingarten displays Mastery of understanding this profoundly esoteric, intricately paved, PATH.

ESPIRAL features Ms. Weingarten’s original choreography, set in the Curandera’s ‘Inner Temple’ , a refuge composed of symbol, sound, and text. The unification of ALMA (Soul) and CORAZON (Heart) begins here. The Seeker, played by Dustin Nowlin, is uneasy, experiencing a vague dread, his life as a Modern is unfulfilling, disconnected. The Viewer embarking with the Seeker on his Journey, guided, created, curated if you will, by his "Therapist", becomes Personal Witness to the actual processes in reunification, reintroduction, reintegration of ALMA and CORAZON.

A reference or context which may give the Reader a clearer picture of the consistency of ESPIRAL is, if imagined as independent , yet seamlessly edited scene into Jodorowsky’s, THE HOLY MOUNTAIN. Ms. Weingarten has created an alchemical series of tableaus, composed of wonderfully photographed stills, superimposed on most fluidly, graceful Meditation in Movement. Set to a beautifully composed score by Mike Hovanscek, underscored with her serene narration of the wisdom of Adi Da Samraj……
