Jack Shephard was able to display a high level of movement skill execution through-out the passage of play displayed above. Jack demonstrated changing of direction, running and jumping which are all fundamental locomotor skills that are important in games and sports (Lubans, Morgan, Cliff, Barnett & Okely, 2010). This particular play action only shows Jack playing in a defensive position however, Jack was able to remain close enough to his opponent whilst the ball progressed down the floor. When the ball become critically close to his own goal Jack was able to than effectively change his balance and twist his body to reject the shot on goal, thus showing Jack has good non-manipulative skills. (Lubans, Morgan, Cliff, Barnett & Okely, 2010). During the rejection Jack was successful in being able to close the distance between both the intimate and immediate play space.

Another skill execution that Jack demonstrated in the video was his ability to change levels. In order for Jack to intercept the ball and cause for the ball to be rejected he changed his posture from an upright running position to a lower explosive level that allowed for him to stick his arm out between the attempted shot and then block the ball. Also displayed in the sequence was Jacks relationship. Jack was able to successfully demonstrate a relationship with his opponent as he was able to follow him up and down the court despite the constant threat of his opponent changing square and then receiving the ball. When his opponent then received the ball, jack was able to execute the blocked shot. His timing on this particular movement showed that jack had a good relationship with the object in play. What stood out the most in regard to skill execution was jacks tracking ability. in this particular sequence of play Jack was able to track the ball whilst simultaneously monitor the movements and positions of both his opponent and team-mates. (Qiu et al., 2018). Intertwined with these skill actions includes Jacks effort, He was able to progress up and down the floor and accelerate accordingly to meet the demands of the opposition.

In regard to communication, Jack does not display any signs of interacting with his peers although he displays a high level of concentration and attention. The attention is displayed through his level of cognition and effort when blocking the shot and his concentration changes to what is most relevant between both his opponent and the object. Jack is able to show some form of individual tactical play through his poised movements and ability to interfere with the shot. Jack’s decision making was also present through his ability to use his speed as a resource to interfere with the shot. Lastly, Jacks posture and positioning was a key element as he was significant in putting himself in the right position when blocking the shot of his opponent.
