While I am know for my Visual Effects and 3D creations, this video is not that at all. This was all real and very scary for me. My wife is a California native, and didn't flinch. Hahaha

I bleeped out my cussing, just to keep this All Audience safe.

This was a video I managed to record just as the Ridgecrest 7.1 earthquake reached us. I only missed a second or two of the beginning. We are in Glendale CA about 107 miles Southwest of the epicenter, but still felt quite a lot of it. There was a 4.8 just a few seconds prior to this one that got me on alert, which is why I had the phone ready to record. We're on the third floor, which really amplified the movement.

Being the VFX geek that I am I decided to use my skills to stabilize the footage using my After Effects script (provideocoalition.com/stabilized-footage-script/) to better see what was moving in my home. This is the second clip that plays. I also tried to correct the lens distortion a little to help clear the image up.

I've lived in CA for 13 years now and have felt more quakes in those three days that my entire time here. It was also the strongest one I've experienced. nothing can really bring across the reality of experiencing these things first hand. It is such a disorienting feeling.
