Join us for Good Shepherd Sunday as Jesus proclaims, "I am the Good Shepherd." John 10:11-16
Family Reflection and Response Ideas:
• Re-enact the stories with family members, stuffed animals, dolls, or action figures.
• Using art, whether drawing, clay or paint, to respond to or retell the story.
• Wonder how the sheep felt under the care of the hired hand versus the good shepherd?
• Wonder what it is like for the Good Shepherd to know the name of each sheep? For them to know His voice, care and protection?
• Wonder where the other sheep are that will join the fold to be one fold with one shepherd?
• wonder what Jesus is saying to you through this scripture story?
• Share our Lenten memory verse as an Easter proclamation. Luke 19:10
• Discuss how the Good Shepherd relates to the portion of the Nicene Creed (and hand motions) from this week. "For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures."
• Throughout Easter, make joyful noise unto the Lord with musical instruments, pots and pans, or keys as you sing and shout ALLELUIA, The Lord has risen indeed! Resurrect your Allelluias. Sing "Allelu, Allelu, Alleluia, Praise ye the Lord."
• Plant a lily, wildflower seeds or a perennial plant - Jesus brings new life. The plant will grow anew each year. In baptism, we too can live into a new life in Jesus.
