Pour cette première mission de stage, mon patron m’a confié la réalisation d’une petite boucle vidéo de 20 secondes, qui servira de décor à une pièce de théâtre réalisée par un de ses amis. Celle-ci s'intitule Piaf, et sera jouée début septembre. Les vidéos, projetées sur le mur au fond de la salle, feront office de mise en contexte et de transitions entre les différentes scènes. La demande était de créer 10 affiches dans le style des années 40, 50 et 60. Je me suis appuyée du mur Pinterest qu’il avait commencé, et que j’ai enrichi d’autres références. Après quelques recherches de composition, j’ai réalisé les 10 meilleures. Gaston a ensuite souhaité deux propositions d’animation : une où les affiches s’empilent les unes sur les autres, et une autre où les affiches défilent pêle-mêle, comme piétons dans une rue. C’est finalement la 2e proposition qui a été retenue. En parallèle, il m’a été demandé de trouver des archives vidéo datant des années 40 à 60, sur des sites comme l’INA, pour recréer l’ambiance des époques de la vie d’Édith Piaf.

For this first internship assignment, my boss asked me to make a short 20-second video loop, which will be used as a set for a play directed by one of his friends. The play is called Piaf, and will be performed in early September. The videos, projected on the wall at the back of the room, will serve as a background and as transitions between the different scenes. The request was to create 10 posters in the style of the 40s, 50s and 60s. I used the Pinterest wall that he had started, and added other references. After some compositional research, I came up with the best 10. Gaston then wanted two animation proposals: one where the posters stacked on top of each other, and another where the posters scrolled in a jumble, like pedestrians in a street. In the end, it was the second proposal that was chosen. At the same time, I was asked to find video archives dating from the 1940s to the 1960s, on sites such as INA, to recreate the atmosphere of the different periods of Edith Piaf's life.
