Better known in 1979 for their epic disco hit, "We Are Family," Sister Sledge produced and recorded this smooth, stylish dance number releasing it in February. This was one of my personal dance favorites and very popular in the spring of '79. The song reached #9 at Billboard and #8 at Cash Box on May 5, 1979 where it stayed for two weeks. The release of "We Are Family" at that time prevented "He's The Greatest Dancer" from climbing any higher on the charts.

This was my young adult world, now long gone. I was the guy spinning the records and, yeah, I could dance.
