One thing I try do is to never forget where I came from. For seven years I had the honor to serve the citizens of Dekalb County as a Dekalb County Firefighter, FAO to be exact. To be honest the crews I worked with always had so much fun, it was never like work. Often people would stop us thanking us for being heroes, and with time I learned to graciously say “You’re welcome” and accept their praise. For me I knew every time I put on that uniform people were watching me, my dad was proud of me, and I was my son’s second most favorite bhero. (He always admired my senior firefighter Tim Mcrae more) Nonetheless, being now almost ten years removed from the field I still look at the profession honorably and smile when I think that people once called me a hero. A couple of weeks ago while visiting a friend in Peachtree City FD, I recorded and pieced together this video. #heroes #bethehero #firefighters #canoneosr
