Micah Sayler is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and editor. From the very beginning, Micah loved storytelling and dedicated himself to grow in countless storytelling artforms: drawing, painting, public speaking, theater, and writing. He originally took interest in the filmmaking process upon taking a screenwriting class at Olympic College, believing that the class would give him a fresh perspective on the writing process and help him further the development of his original novel concept titled Legend of Whendelen. It was in this class that Micah’s vision for Legend of Whendelen and his entire storytelling career transformed from an aspired novel and author to feature length screenplay and filmmaker. Soon after, Micah entered into Olympic College’s Film School Bachelor Program and began expanding his writing and filmmaking portfolio. Micah has written his first feature length screenplay, Legend of Whendelen (2017) a medieval fantasy epic; starred in Secret Santa (2017) a short comedy; directed and produced Filmmaking Infinity (2018), a short drama; starred in and edited Ashes, Ashes (2018) a short comedy; wrote, produced, edited, and directed First Contact (2018) a short romantic comedy; produced, directed, and edited Faithful Disbelief (2018), a short drama; produced and co-directed A Decent Man (2018) a short proof of concept drama; and wrote, directed, co-produced, and edited Legend of Whendelen (2019) a short animated concept trailer based off of his original, feature length screenplay.
Micah is currently an executive producer, co-writer, and assistant director for the upcoming short crime drama A Decent Man (2020), the director, executive producer, and writer for the upcoming animatic short drama The Art Of Letting You Go (2020), and is writing two feature length screenplays: Raven Hunter, a sci-fi thriller/western, and The Art of Letting You Go, a drama based off of the short film with the same name. Micah graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Filmmaking in June, 2020.
