Title ~ "Lending Luck"
Description ~
Before we started this project we knew we wanted to utilize the toon shader/texture in maya so that determined the art direction of our modeling and animation. We all did a little of everything, but the work was divided with leaders for check in and collaboration of our scenes. Aaron H. was the 3Dmodel lead; James kay was the group animation and texture lead; Jei S. was the pre-production and audio lead; Craig V. is our rendering lead. Specifically for this animation story we had gained our inspiration from the Economic Inequality like the recent events such as, the Ivy League school administrations getting bribed to let students enroll. Recently many parents and staff of these prestigious schools have come forward about bribing their way through scholarships, admissions, and grades. The Rich mouse represents the well off student who had come from a wealthy home/background, having it better than others. The poor mouse represents the hard working/average student that took all the right steps toward a higher education, but couldn’t make it simply due to the plethora of fees (struggles) that a college education (life) comes with. Lastly, the lucky cat in our animation represents the justice and outcome of the whole scandal that this kind of behavior came to light and these hard working students will be better off in the long run in life. Whereas, the students who bribed their way through an education will parish when faced with a difficult task and get what's coming to them (karma). Through the greed of the rich mouse misfortune comes when he least expects it, getting his lavish lifestyle taken away from him, on the other hand with the poor mouse his hard work and dedication finally pays off with a bamboo garden.
